新しい道の駅としてのインパクトと、自然豊かな北郷町の既存の街並み、遠景に見える山並みとの調律を図り、本計画では建築の姿を小さくし、分散させることでランドスケープの中に溶け込ませている。
樹齢の大きな既存樹や美しい桜並木を極力残すことで地域住民にとっての心の拠り所となってきた場所性を継承する。敷地全体に、遊具広場であり、図書館でもあり、休憩所でもあるフォリーを散りばめることで、公園のような豊かさとおおらかさを持つ道の駅になる。

A design proposal for a road station
In order to adjust the impact as a new road station and existing streets of Kitago-cho in nature, with mountain ranges visible in a distant view, in this project we will make the appearance of the building smaller and melt into the landscape.
By retaining large trees and beautiful cherry blossom trees as much as possible, we inherit the spatiality that has become a center of mind for local residents. By placing folly on the whole site, it becomes a station on the road with richness and extent like a park.
